65' Kwadow Asamoah's deflected shot goes into the safe hands of Tim Howard. Ghana are trying long-range shots from everywhere!

64' Ghana continues to waste chances! His shot from inside the area is deflected for a corner.

63' At the other end, in a rare attempt by the US, Jermaine Jones's long-range shot is parried by the keeper.

62' Atsu sends a curling shot that goes over the crossbar.

60' Ghana have the upper hand in terms of possession and goal-scoring chances. But they still need the killer instinct.

49' Ghana are still trying to penetrate the US defence on the right flank, where Atsu and Daniel Opare make marauding runs.

48' The US are likely to adopt a cautious approach to the second half to defend their slender advantage.

47' A long ball by Muntari is handled by Tim Howard. Ghana's repeated long balls are largely ineffective.

39' A Gyan header goes wide following a cross from Atsu.

38' Ghana lay siege to the US area, but goal-scoring opportunities are still at a premium.

36' Dempsey is back on the pitch, to the relief of Juergen Klinsmann who can hardly afford another unscripted substitution.
