La Liga's newly promoted side Eibar announced on Tuesday the signing of Ghanaian midfielder Derek Boateng on a one-year deal.
The 31-year-old, who had a previous experience in La Liga where he played for Getafe between 2009 and 2011, expressed his delight at returning to the Spanish league after spending the last season at Premier League side Fulham.
"I’m very happy to play in the league. I want to give my best in Eibar," Boateng was quoted as saying by Ghanasoccernet on Tuesday.
Eibar's president Alex Aranzabal heaped praise on Boateng, labelling him as a “proven” and “experienced” player.
Boateng has made 26 appearances with the Black Stars, including two World Cup caps in 2006 and 2010.
