Thanks to the repeated 1-0 win over Uganda in the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers on 11 and 15 October respectively, Togo reached their highest position yet in FIFA’s monthly ranking issued on Thursday.
Togo have moved up 73 places to 52 in FIFA’s October ranking as they were ranked 125 last September.
The Sparrow Hawks defeated Uganda in two games respectively this October in the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
They are bidding to reach the highest level of continental prestige as they are placed second in Group E with six points, two behind leaders Ghana.
The qualifying competition will decide the 15 teams to join host, Morocco at the African Cup of Nations finals in January and February.
