Nigeria forward Victor Moses is facing a spell of between six to eight weeks on the sidelines due to a thigh injury.

Stoke winger Moses, on-loan from Chelsea, had picked up the injury in Saturday's 2-1 English Premier League defeat by Burnley.

"It's bad news on Victor Moses, a problem with his thigh," assistant manager Mark Bowen said.

"He will be out with anything up to six to eight weeks. It's a big hit. He had a scan and it's not good.

"At the moment we're deciding with Chelsea whether to go back and have the rehab there or stay with our team."

Moses, who joined Chelsea in 2012, has played 18 matches for Nigeria – scoring six international goals in the process.

The 23-year-old has been a key figure for Stoke this season, but has only scored one Premier League goal for Mark Hughes's side so far.
