Algeria star, Antar Yahia, currently playing for German side VfL Bochum, turns down an offer from Saudi League champions, Al Hilal, who stepped up their interest in signing the defender in the upcoming transfer window.
Al Hilal opened talks with Yahia’s agent, who expressed the centre back’s dismissal of the Saudi offer, as he is eager to carry out his contract with the Bundesliga outfit.
“I won’t leave Bochum as I can’t find another club better than this team” the 2009 best Arab player of the year was quoted as saying on Algerian newspaper ELHADDAF.
The 29-year-old defender’s contract with the Bundesliga side is set to expire in 2014 as he recently extended his stay with the team in 2010.
Yahia is considered a national hero by many Algerians for securing a place for the Algeria national team in the 2010 World Cup after scoring the victory goal in the game against Egypt in the 2010 African World Cup qualifiers play-off.
