Algeria’s midfielder Karim Ziani is ready to fight Morocco in the crucial 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifier after catching the Desert Foxes’ current preparatory campaign in Spain.
“I am ready and fit for the Morocco match,” the experienced Ziani was quoted as saying by Algerian newspaper El Khabar on Tuesday.
The 28-year old player was doubtful about the anticipated game due to an undisclosed injury that sidelined him from his Turkish club Kayserispor’s Saturday game against Bucaspor in the domestic league.
“I opted not to aggravate my injury so I missed Bucaspor’s game. I say to Algeria’s fans; I am totally recovered and fit for the game,” the former Marseille player explained.
Algeria faces stiff competition in Group D, as they share the same points (four) with the other Central African Republic rivals, Tanzania and Morocco. Defeating the Atlas Lions is a difficult mission, according to Ziani.
“The match will be difficult as all the teams are targeting the group summit,” added Ziani.
Kayserispor revealed recently that they reached an agreement with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg to make Ziani’s loan deal permanent after his outstanding performance with the club since last January.
