Tunisia smashed Djibouti 8-1 in the opening day of the 2017 African Nations Cup qualifiers Group A on Friday.

Yassine Chikhaoui's hat-trick on 9, 22 and 23 minutes ended the game as a contest.

Ferjani Sassi scored the fourth in the 37th minute as Tunisia secured a comfortable first-half lead.

In the second half, Djibouti midfielder Mohamed Liban scored his side's only goal nine minutes after the break.

Tunisia's Saber Khalifa netted the fifth in the 63rd minute and further goals from Ben Youssef (68), Maher Hannachi (79) and Yoann Touzghar (80) completed the rout and gave the Carthage Eagles a comprehensive opening win.

In Group F, Morocco made the most of their home advantage to beat Libya 1-0, thanks to a goal from Omar El Kaddouri in the 51st minute.

In Group L, Guinea slumped to a surprise 2-1 defeat at home to Swaziland.

Swaziland forward Tony Tsabedze scored twice on 12 and 84 minutes to give the visitors the full three points. Guinea's Francois Kamano had earlier equalised with a 68th-minute strike.
