Inter Milan striker Samuel Eto’o expressed his delight after leading his team to keep the Coppa Italia title, reassuring fans he is remaining with the club for the coming season.

The Cameroon hit man scored twice to lead the Nerazzurri to a precious 3-1 win over Palermo in the Italian Cup final to bring his tally for the season to 37 goals in all competitions.

“The important thing in football is to win. My record is important too, but it wouldn't be so sweet without the victories,” the international striker was quoted as saying by the Inter Milan official website after the match.

“The president has spoken and that is enough. Will I stay? Certainly,” the 30-year old player added.

The player was heavily praised by fans after the game, even by Palermo supporters, for leading his team to win the trophy that came as compensation for losing the league title for their arch rivals AC Milan.

"Football is a beautiful sport and I want to thank all the fans, including the Sicilians who went on a long journey to be here,” the former Barcelona star concluded.
