Senegal striker Mamadou Niang has decided to end his career with Turkish league winners Fenerbahce.

"I see myself ending my career in Fenerbahce," the former Marseille front man, who has three years to run on his current contract, was quoted as saying in L'Equipe.

"In the beginning I was surprised and didn't really know where I was going. Then, throughout the season, I realised the fervour and enthusiasm that prevails here."

Last year's Ligue 1 top-scorer also praised Fenerbahce manager Aykut Kocaman, saying that he was the main reason for the team ending a four-year league drought, thanks to his "crucial tactical changes at the halfway stage of the season."

Niang, 31, finished as the league's third top scorer with 15 goals in 29 games, behind Trabzonspor's Burak Yilmaz (19) and club teammate Alex De Souza (27).

He is currently preparing to take part in Senegal's African Cup of Nations qualifier away to Cameroon on Saturday.
