Senegal coach Amara Traore will have to do without in-form striker Demba Ba who will miss the trip to Yaounde because of injury.

“Demba Ba won’t travel with us because he is injured,” Senegal’s assistant coach Mayacine Mar was quoted as saying in Senegalese newspaper Le Soleil.

The West Ham striker sustained a thigh injury and failed to recover in time for Saturday’s African Cup of Nations qualifier against Cameroon.

The 26-year old striker has been in prolific form for the Hammers, scoring seven goals in 12 Premier League appearances since joining them last January from German side Hoffenheim where he had already scored six goals in 17 Bundesliga games.

The Teranga Lions have an otherwise full strength squad to pick from with the Ligue 1 top scorer Moussa Sow (Lille, France), captain Mamadou Niang (Fenerbahce, Turkey) and Freiburg's flamboyant striker Papis Demba Cisse leading the attack.

Senegal top group E following a perfect start with a maximum of nine points while Cameroon are in a must-win situation to revive their hopes of reaching the ACN finals as they are third with four points. DR Congo also have four points while Mauritius are at the bottom after three defeats.
