Holders ES Setif of Algeria bowed out of the African Champions League from the group stage after suffering an embarrassing 3-0 defeat by compatriots and already-qualified USM Alger on Friday.
The hosts went to the locker room two up, thanks to goals from Youssef Blaili and Kaddour Beldjilali before striker Mohamed Aoudia completed the rout with 16 minutes remaining.
Setif’s third Group B defeat left them third with four points, three behind Sudan’s El Merreikh who are also through to the last four along with leaders USM Alger, who have maximum 15 points from 5 games.
El Eulma, a third Algerian outfit in the group, lie at the bottom with no points after suffering four losses.
Setif won their second Champions League title last year when they defeated Congolese side Vita Club in the final.
