Ghana garnered maximum six points from two Group H games after claiming a 1-0 victory away to Rwanda in the African Cup of Nations on Saturday while South Sudan made history after recording their first ever win in a competitive match.

The Black Stars, who lost to Ivory Coast in the 2015 Nations Cup final, needed a superb 88th-minute free kick from Mubarak Wakaso to break down Rwanda and secure their second win from two games after opening their qualifying campaign with a 7-1 hammering of  Mauritius.

Mauritius take on Mozambique, who lost to Rwanda in their opening match, in the other Group H clash on Sunday.

South Sudan claimed a historic victory after defeating Equatorial Guinea 1-0 in Group C, thanks to a goal from Atak Lual seven minutes after the restart.

The country gained its independence from Sudan in 2011 and its football team played the first official match one year later, a friendly against Uganda which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Senegal collected maximum points from their opening two matches of Group K after beating Namibia 2-0.

Cheikhou Kouyate opened the scoring on 36 minutes before Southampton winger Sadio Mane wrapped up the win with a 56th-minute goal.

Senegal have six points, three ahead of Burundi who defeated Niger (3 points) 2-0, thanks to goals from Fiston Abdul Razak and Papy Faty.
