Orlando Pirates midfielder Oupa Manyisa will not be available for his side's Confederation Cup semi-final clash with Ahly due to injury, the club announced on Wednesday.
The South African side will host Ahly in Johannesburg on Saturday in the tie's first leg.
The 27-year-old Manyisa, the club captain, sustained an ankle injury during his side's goalless league draw with Polokwane City on Tuesday and is set to undergo surgery in the next few days.
"Clinical examinations revealed swelling and a limited range of movement in the left ankle," Orlando Pirates doctor Lazarus Maphakela told sports publication Kickoff on Wednesday.
"Oupa was stabilised and referred to Mediclinic for further management. An X-ray revealed a distal fracture of left fibula."
"He will see a specialist in Johannesburg and is expected to undergo surgery to rectify the injury before the end of the week," the doctor added.
Skipper Manyisa joins Orlando's absentee list, already populated by suspended defenders Happy Jele and Siyabonga Sangweni.
