Mohamed Sissoko is flattered with Real Madrid’s reported interested in signing him but insists he is happy at Italian ailing giants Juventus.

Reports in Spain suggested that Jose Mourinho’s Real, who won the Spanish Cup and finished runners-up to arch-rivals Barcelona in the Primera Liga last season, are lining up a bid for the 26-year-old.

“All I know about it is from the press. It makes me happy that a club like Real Madrid want me,” Sissoko told Spanish newspaper Marca on Wednesday.

“It's fantastic, but I still have two years on my contract at Juventus - a club I have great respect for. I'm flattered by the interest from Madrid, but I'm a Juventus player.”

Sissoko, who was once likened to French great Patrick Vieira by former Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez, has joined Juventus from the English side in January 2008.

He earned a regular place in the heart of the Bianconeri’s midfield but the team struggled to rediscover their status as one of the world’s best teams, having suffered miserable time since their demotion to the second division following the infamous 2006 match-fixing scandal.

If Sissoko joined Real, he would be reunited with ex-Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso, who has been one of the team’s key performers since joining in the summer of 2009.

“Playing with Xabi is simple because he's a great player. I played really well alongside him and we had a good relationship in the dressing room - he's a great person,” Sissoko added.
