Getafe’s Ghanaian midfielder Derek Boateng signed a four-year contract with the Ukrainian team Dnipro after failing to move to the English Premier League.
Reports have linked the 28-year-old with the Premier League duo West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa but Dnipro eventually acquired his services on a deal worth 5.5 million Euros.
“Dnipro has formalized the transition to our club of Ghanaian midfielder Derek Boateng,” a club statement read on Wednesday. “Derek signed a personal contract for a period of four years.”
Boateng, who has been with the Spanish team Getafe since 2009, will join his compatriot Samuel Inkoom who moved to Dnipro last January.
