National teams' activities have also been suspended
“We wish to inform all stakeholders and members of the public that the offices of the GFA have been closed down indefinitely.” Ghana FA said in a statement posted on their official website on Thursday.
“In accordance thereof, the Premier League, Division One, Two and Three, FA Cup and development programmes for coaches, referees, medical personnel and administrators have been suspended indefinitely. All national team assignments have also been put on hold,” added the statement.
The decision comes as a reaction to the raid by the Economic and Organised Crime Office on Tuesday.
Agents of the Serious Fraud Unit (SFU) arrived at the GFA with a court warrant, took away computers and mobile phones and prevented workers from entering the premises including the president of the GFA, Kwesi Nyantakyi.
They are investigating frauds concerning sponsoring activities with the GFA.
The suspension will run until the EOCO state agency completes its investigations into activities of the GFA.
