Algerian side MC Alger have reached an agreement with current coach Nour El-Dein Zekry for a friendly termination of his contract,  due to the team’s poor results in the 2011 season in the league.

Zekry still has a year left in his one-and-a-half year contract with the Algerian side, signed last March.

German Press Agency (DPA) revealed that the MC Alger have stepped up their interest in signing Swiss tactician Alain Geiger to replace Zekry next season.

The 50-year-old Swiss technical manager was in charge of Egyptian Premier League outfit Masry this season and left them by mutual consent.

Geiger led Masry in just two matches after being appointed as the club’s head coach in December on an 18-month contract.
