Algeria's high-flying winger Riyad Mahrez has become the second highest goal-scorer among Arab players in the history of the Premier after notching a brace in Leicester's 3-2 victory at Everton on Saturday.

The in-form 24-year-old converted two penalties to take his Premier League tally to 17 goals scored over two seasons, including 13 so far this term.

He surpassed Moroccan Hassan Kachloul (16 goals), who played for Southampton and Aston Villa from 1998 to 2004, and closed to within five goals of Arab top scorer Mido of Egypt.

Mido, now coach of Egyptian Premier League side Ismaily, scored his 22 goals for Tottenham Hotspur, Middlesbrough and Wigan Athletic.

Mahrez is also just two goals short of Premier League top scorer and Leicester teammate Jamie Vardy, who has netted 15 goals in 17 matches so far this season.
