Tanzanian striker Samatta Mbwana Aly, who is engaged with TP Mazembe of DR Congo until 30 April, is being linked to a move to French side FC Nantes, according to L'equipe.

“FC Nantes could fairly quickly finalise the arrival of Samatta Mbwana Aly…The player should be released through compensation of less than €1 million,” the French newspaper stated.

The 24-year-old, who has been playing with his national team since 2011, has also been starring with Mazembe since he moved from Simba in the same year.

He was named the CAF African Player of the Year, being the first player from East Africa to be crowned with the prestigious award.
