Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who has reportedly penned a six-month deal with the English Premier League side.

Adebayor was a free agent after being released by Tottenham Hotspur last September.

The 31-year-old had a long spell in English football, playing for Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham and scoring 96 goals in 230 appearances.

He had a short tenure with Spanish giants Real Madrid, where he spent six months in 2011 on loan from Manchester City, helping them win the Copa Del Rey.

Adebayor was close to a move to Aston Villa and West Ham in the summer but negotiations fell through after he failed to reach an agreement with either club.

Crystal Palace, who lie 11th in the league table, have not scored in the Premier League since defeating Stoke City 2-1 on 19 December.
