Southampton manager Ronald Koeman said on Thursday he is disappointed after the suspension of his side's Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama for five matches.

Still, Koeman said he believes the team have the resources in their squad to Cope with Enyama's absence.

The FA confirmed on Wednesday Enyama's red card against West Ham that will mean a five-match ban for the Kenyan midfielder who has been sent off three times this season.

"Of course, very disappointed," Koeman told Sky Sports on Thursday.

"First of all, for the player by himself, and also for the team; he is an important, key player for the team and is normally always in the line-up."

"He is suspended for five games and it is a long time but we have to accept and, like in other positions in the team, we have enough competition to replace Victor."

The Kenyan midfielder made 22 appearances for Southampton this season so far.
