Ghana's winning run in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers continued on Thursday when the Black Stars defeated Mozambique 3-1 at home to claim their third consecutive win in the qualifiers.
The Black Stars cemented their position at the top of Group H with nine points, six points ahead of second-placed Mauritius, who will face Rwanda on Friday.
Frank Acheampong opened the scoring, five minutes after the kick-off, while defender John Boye added the second in the 56th minute of the game.
Jordan Ayew brought the score to 3-0 two minutes later with a wonderful volley, while Mozambique's midfielder Apson Manjate scored the consolation for his side seven minutes after the hour mark.
Mozambique will host the Black Stars in Maputo on Sunday.
Earlier in the day, Liberia earned a 1-0 away win over Djibouti to move to second in Group A with six points.
Group Leaders Togo (6pts) will have a tough mission on Friday when they face third-placed Tunisia (3pts) at Rades.
In Group B, Madagascar held to a 1-1 home draw with the Central African Republic to remain at the group's bottom with two points from three games, while the Central African Republic moved to second place with four points.
In Group D, Comoros enjoyed their first win in the qualifiers after defeating Botswana 1-0 at home thanks to a goal from El-Fardou Nabouhane in the 60th minute of the game.
Despite their win, Comoros remained in last place in the group with three points, three behind group leaders Uganda, who will face Burkina Faso on Friday.
