Everton’s Nigerian defender Joseph Yobo has officially returned to Turkish side Fenerbahce after signing one-year loan deal late on Monday, a few hours before the deadline of the transfer zone in the Turkish league.

The Super Eagles skipper spent last season on loan with Fenerbahce helping them to clinch the Turkish league title. The Istanbul club was eager to keep the player this season on a permanent basis but it seems that they failed to reach an agreement with The Toffees’ management.

After rejoining the English Premier League side this summer, the 31-year old player, Yobo, failed to prove his worth and missed all the club’s pre-season matches.

Yobo had joined Everton in 2009 on a five-year loan deal from French side Marseille.
