Oliech struck three goals in the French Ligue 1 for the first time as Auxerre came from behind to trounce Sochaux 4-1, with Burkina Faso star Alain Traore equalising before the Kenyan stole the show.

Ba claimed his first English Premier League hat-trick as Newcastle United remained unbeaten with a 3-1 win over Blackburn Rovers.

The Senegalese striker opened the scoring with a powerful shot and his other two goals came from headers.

ENGLAND                                                                           

DIDIER DROGBA (Chelsea)

The Ivory Coast striker marked his return from concussion with the final goal in his side's 4-1 rout of Swansea City at Stamford Bridge. Drogba had been sidelined since a collision with Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy on August 27 but he made up for lost time with his first goal of the season—a fine finish on the turn from Florent Malouda's pass.

DEMBA BA (Newcastle United)

The Senegal striker hit his first hat-trick in the Premier League to fire Newcastle to a 3-1 win over Blackburn at St James' Park. Ba, who moved to West Ham United in January before joining Newcastle at the end of last season, had failed to score in his previous five appearances for the Magpies. But he finally broke his goal drought with a powerful shot in the 27th minute and struck again with a header three minutes later before completing his treble in the 54th minute with another header.

ALEX SONG (Arsenal)

The Cameroon midfielder scored his first goal since December 2010 as the Gunners cruised to a 3-0 win over Bolton Wanderers at the Emirates Stadium. Song, whose last goal came in a 3-1 win against Chelsea, was finally back on the scoresheet in the 89th minute when he met Bacary Sagna's pass, beat Zat Knight and curled home.

STEVE GOHOURI (Wigan Athletic)

The Ivory Coast defender was sent off in his first appearance this season as his side lost 2-1 against Tottenham at the DW Stadium. Gohouri had already been booked when he chopped down Spurs winger Gareth Bale, earning a red card for two bookings.

EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR (Tottenham Hotspur)

The Togo forward played a key role as Spurs won 2-1 at Wigan. Adebayor made the pass that led Rafael van der Vaart to fire Spurs into a third-minute lead and the former Arsenal star has now won all three of his matches since moving to White Hart Lane on loan from Manchester City.

FRANCE

DENNIS OLIECH (Auxerre)

Kenyan forward Oliech claimed his first Ligue 1 hat-trick as Auxerre came from a goal down at the interval to beat Sochaux 4-1. Oliech put the hosts ahead in the 52nd minute, after Sochaux goalkeeper Teddy Richert fluffed his clearance, and doubled his personal tally in the 63rd minute before polishing off a cross from Alain Traore four minutes later to complete his treble.

ALAIN TRAORE (Auxerre)

Burkina Faso international midfielder Traore, 22, was Oliech's partner in crime in the victory over Sochaux. His 51st-minute equaliser was his sixth goal of the season and took him level with Lyon's Bafetimbi Gomis at the top of the Ligue 1 scoring charts.

PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG (Saint-Etienne)

The Gabonese forward, who is on loan from AC Milan, earned Saint-Etienne a point at Rennes with a bullet header in the 56th minute of the 1-1 draw. Aubameyang, who is at his fourth Ligue 1 club after previous loan stints with Dijon, Lille and Monaco, has scored three goals in eight league games this season.

GERMANY

PAPISS DEMBA CISSE (Freiburg)

Senegalese striker Cisse notched Freiburg's opening goal to make it six for the season already—compared with 22 for last season, a record for an African in the Bundesliga. But his side could not hold on to their lead, as Schalke roared back to win 4-2.

KNOWLEDGE MUSONA (Hoffenheim)

Zimbabwe international Musona came on as a substitute but was unable to turn the tide in the final 25 minutes after replacing Dominik Kaiser as his team lost 2-0 to Cologne.

CHINEDU OBASI (Hoffenheim)

Musona's team-mate and Nigerian forward Obasi likewise started on the bench with Peniel Mlapa getting the nod from the outset, but Obasi did get on before the hour mark, only minutes before Lukas Podolski clinched a 2-0 win for Cologne.

ITALY

TAYE TAIWO (AC Milan)

The Nigeria full-back had a less than impressive return to the first team following an injury absence. Taiwo was substituted early in the second half of the 1-0 victory against Cesena after a poor performance. His positioning in defence was not always accurate and he showed a heavy touch at times in possession, while lacking assuredness in his passing.

KEVIN CONSTANT (Genoa)

The Guinea midfielder scored the third goal in Genoa's 3-0 defeat of Catania in mid-week but he could not help his team to victory at the weekend against Chievo. Constant had few chances to get forward and impress in the 2-1 defeat, particularly after Genoa were reduced to 10 men. He was restricted to a disciplined role down the left flank.

SULLEY MUNTARI (Inter Milan)

Having fallen out of favour in Milan last season and been loaned to Sunderland, Muntari appears to be winning back his employers' confidence. Coach Claudio Ranieri brought him on when trying to hold on to a 1-0 lead away to Bologna and Muntari repaid that faith by providing the free-kick delivery that saw Brazil centre-back Lucio head home the killer final goal in a 3-1 success.

SPAIN

FREDERIC KANOUTE (Valencia)

Experienced Malian forward Kanoute scored the only goal of the game as Sevilla beat Valencia 1-0 in a top-of-the-table La Liga clash.

AROUNA KONE (Levante)

Ivory Coast international Kone led the attack for Levante in their 3-1 victory over Espanyol that put the modest club level on 11 points with Barcelona. Prominent throughout, he was substituted in the 75th minute for Carlos Aranda.

PAPE DIAKHATE (Granada)

Senegal captain Diakhate played his fourth game for Granada in their 1-1 draw with Osasuna. He became the Andalusian club's record signing for $4.5 million from Dynamo Kiev in August and although solid throughout, he was at fault for Osasuna's goal when he failed to clear a left-wing cross.
