JS Kabylie president, Sherif Hannashi, has officially announced his side won’t take part in the CAF Confederation Cup next season due financial difficulties.

“Participating in the Confederation Cup affected the club’s finances so we won’t join the coming edition,” he was quoted as saying in Algerian newspaper Al-Khabar on Thursday.

The Algerian side’s management are eager to rest the club’s first team players in order to concentrate on the domestic league.

“Withdrawing from the Confederation Cup will help our team players concentrate on the Algerian League along with the domestic championships.”

JS Kabylie were knocked out of the 2011 Confederation Cup in the group stage after finishing their Group B campaign with zero points.
