Wydad coach John Toshack believes that his side's result against Zamalek in the Champions League semis would be decisive in his future with the Moroccan side.

The Moroccan giants will face Zamalek in the first-leg of the Champions League semis in Alexandria on Friday before hosting the White Knights in the second-leg in Morocco, one week later.

"To be honest, if we can win this (The Champions League), for various reasons it would have to go down as one of the most successful periods of my career," Toshack told the BBC on Wednesday.

"There have just been so many things we have had to adapt to.

"If things go wrong here, like they could easily do, I'm not sure I would have the patience again to turn things around.

"To be honest, we'll see how we do in these semi-finals and then that would be a good time to sit down and take stock."

After taking charge in the summer of 2014, the former Wales boss realised success with the Moroccan side helping them win the Moroccan league in 2015, before finishing second in 2016.
