Ghana announce squad for Uganda's 2018 World Cup qualifier

Ghana coach Avram Grant has announced a 23-man squad for the 2018 World Cup qualifier at home against Uganda on Friday.

Skipper Asamoah Gyan, who plays for UAE's Al-Ahli, will be leading the Ghanaian squad, while West Ham United star Andre Ayew will not be available due to injury.

The Ghanaian Black Stars are shooting for a fourth successive appearance at the World Cup finals.

In June, Ghana were drawn alongside Egypt, Congo and Uganda in Group E in the African World Cup qualifiers.

Congo will host Egypt in a home game on Sunday in Kintele in the other Group E match.
