Champions League winners Mamelodi Sundowns claimed their first CAF Super Cup title with a late 1-0 victory over Confederations Cup holders TP Mazembe on Saturday.
Hosts Sundowns of South Africa finally made their dominance count with seven minutes remaining when Brazilian forward Ricardo Nascimento coolly converted a penalty, sending the keeper the wrong way.
Sundowns could have settled the match in their favour earlier had it not been for a host of missed chances, including one for Themba Zwane whose shot from inside the area was blocked by the keeper after a flowing move in the second half.
DR Congo's Mazembe created an early chance though when Ben Malango broke clear, only to see two quick-fire shots denied by the post.
Sundowns, who finished sixht at the Club World Cup last year, won their maiden Super Cup title and prevented Mazembe from claiming their fourth.
Egyptian giants Ahly are the record Super Cup winners with six titles.
