A heroic performance by Tunisian keeper Moez Ben Cherifa helped Esperance of Tunisia claim a precious scoreless away draw against Wydad Casablanca in the first leg of the CAF Champions League final on Sunday.
The Moroccan hosts produced a superb display in the first leg and forced the Tunisians deep into their half.
They enjoyed a large possession of the ball and created some clear-cut chances only to be denied by Ben Cherifa.
Esperance’s game slightly improved in the second half and the pressure eased on their keeper and defence but they couldn’t create any real threat on Wydad’s goal.
The second leg will be played next week-end in Tunisia.
