Ivorian midfielder Yaya Toure said on Wednesday he is not frustrated with his lack of playing time at Manchester City, insisting that featuring in the team's starting line-up is the coach's decision.

The four-time African player of the year has only made five appearances this season in all competitions with Manchester City, including one that lasted for 75 minutes in Tuesday's 1-0 Champions League win over Feyenoord when coach Pep Guardiola made seven changes in his team's starting line-up after ensuring a place in the round of 16.

"You want me to play? Tell the manager," Yaya Toure was quoted as saying by Sky Sports on Wednesday.

"Look at my face. Do you think I am frustrated? Am I enjoying? Of course.

"(If) I am frustrated, think what I would do. I would say to the manager I don’t want to be on the bench and I want to go home," he added.

Toure, a mainstay of Manchester City midfield since joining from Guardiola’s Barcelona in 2010, has been largely confined to the bench in the past couple of seasons.

The 34-year-old has scored 79 goals in over 300 appearances for the Citizens.
