Chelsea’s Ivorian striker Didier Drogba said that the whole team is backing coach Andre Villas-Boas, saying that Villas-Boas can deal with any pressure.

“Everything is now coming together for the manager. You have to remember it is his first season in the Premier League, so it's not easy for him - and it isn't easy for the players or the club,” Drogba was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

Villas-Boas was under in the past recent weeks after the Blues struggled in the Premier League and failed to impress in the UEFA Champions League.

Chelsea are now fourth in the league table with 28 points, ten points behind leaders Manchester City.

“Yes, we have been in a difficult moment - we have been struggling. But you have to stick together and make sure when we are on the pitch, we are all pulling in the same direction. That's what we are doing right now and it's great to see. We will have bad moments but if we stay together, the good things will come along,” the Ivorian international striker commented.

“The manager can deal with any pressure. You don't rise to his level in coaching if you are not a strong personality,” he added.

The Portuguese coach who clinched the Europa League with FC Porto arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer hoping to follow in the footsteps of his compatriot Jose Mourinho, who had a successful experience with the Blues from 2004 to 2007.
