Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said on Tuesday his side are keen on signing Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but said his side had not yet made a formal offer for the Gabon striker.
The 28-year-old is strongly linked with Arsenal and Wenger said a possible deal is under discussion.
Asked if he is confident that Aubameyang is nearing an Arsenal move, Wenger said: "Confident or not confident, I don't know.''
"You never know how close you are. This is the kind of thing - he is one of the possible movements, but we have other things in mind as well. We have plenty of opportunities and the final decision is not made.
"At the moment we are not close to any deal, Aubameyang or anybody else."
Aubameyang scored 21 goals in 23 appearances with Dortmund in all competitions so far this season.
