Andre Villas-Boas revealed on Thursday that Chelsea are waiting to make the best decision possible concerning a new contract for Blues’ Ivorian striker Didier Drogba
Drogba’s contract with Chelsea expires at the end of this season and Chelsea offered a one year extension but the veteran striker wants two.
"It's between a two-year and a one-year and we're waiting to make the best decision possible," Chelsea’s manager was quoted as saying by sky sports.
"We've been discussing this week in, week out, the situation is ongoing and we hope to solve it. Whatever the outcome or agreement, or non-agreement, there will be no question of his professionalism and integrity and he will keep on representing Chelsea this season. “He added.
Inform Drogba produces a fine performance which helped Chelsea to advance in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
"Didier's importance is straightforward, it's not just because he is performing now.”
"What I think is clear is that he is pretty much involved with Chelsea and his mindset is on competing with his colleagues for this club. That's the most gratifying thing, the commitment from the player. His professionalism is not in question." Villas-Boas concluded.
