Algerian club ES Setif have rejected two offers from Cairo giants Ahly and English Premier League side Arsenal to land their striker Abdelmoumene Djabou in the current transfer window.

“Arsenal sent us a letter last week asking to get the services of Djabou, but we totally refused to sell the player at this crucial stage of the season,” ES Setif football director Hassan Hamar told DPA on Monday.

The Algerian cup title holders revealed that they are determined to clinch the CAF African Champions League this season, and they won’t let the player leave until they accomplish their target.

“We may sell the player at the end of the season if we qualified for the group stage,” Hamar added. On the other hand, Egyptian league title holders, Ahly, are eager to strengthen their attack line and it was reported that they made an inquiry about the possibility of landing the talented 24-year old striker.

“Also, we refused another offer from Ahly to land Djabou for 2.5million euros,” the football director concluded.

Ahly currently lie fourth in the Egyptian League with 25 points, 6 points behind their arch-rivals Zamalek in the driving seat.
