Tunisia's Club Sfaxien reach Confederation Cup quarters after Etoile du Sahel win

Tunisian side Club Sfaxien secured their place in the Confederation Cup quarter-finals after defeating compatriots Etoile du Sahel 2-1 in the penultimate group stage game on Sunday.

Tunisian international striker Firas Chaouat put Club Sfaxien ahead two minutes before the hour-mark but Saddam ben Aziza leveled the score four minutes later.

However, Nassim Hnid scored the winner in the 77th minute, helping his side reach the next round.

With one match remaining in the group stage, Club Sfaxien are on top of Group B with nine points, two ahead of second-placed Etoile du Sahel and four clear of Enugu Rangers of Nigeria, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Salitas.   

Club Sfaxien will host Salitas on Sunday, while Etoile du Sahel will take on Enugu Rangers in Sousse.

Defending champions Raja are facing a critical situation in Group A after being held to goalless draw by Hassania Agadir on Sunday.

Raja lie at the bottom of the group with four points, four behind group leaders Renaissance Sportive de Berkane who will face second-placed Otoho D’oyo of Congo (five points) later on Sunday.

In the final day, Hassania Agadir, who also have five points, will host RS Berkane while Raja will face Otoho D’oyo in Morocco next Sunday.
