Nancy’s Malian midfielder Samba Diakite is on the verge of joining English Premier League side Queens Park Rangers on loan until the end of the season after getting the permission of Mali’s coach Alain Giresse to finalize the deal.

The 23-year-old midfielder is currently on international duty at the African Cup of Nations but Giresse gave him the green light to fly to England and undergo a medical test at QPR.

"It will be a loan deal with an option to buy the player if QPR remain in the Premier League at the end of the season," he added.

Diakite, who can also play as a defender, produced some fine displays in the French Ligue1. Olympique Lyon have expressed an interest in signing him but he opted to move to the English Premier League.
