Ahly winger Geraldo was on target as Angola reached the group stage of the African World Cup qualifiers with a 2-1 home win over Gambia on Tuesday.

Angola went through with a 3-1 aggregate win, joining Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Djibouti and Malawi who all advanced earlier in the day.

Geraldo put Angola ahead four minutes before the break but Assan Ceesay kept Gambia's hopes alive with a 65th-minute goal.

However, Angola's Fabio Abreu ended the match as a contest when he struck eight minutes past the hour mark.

Elsewhere, Rwanda routed Seychelles 7-0 for a 10-0 aggregate win while Togo defeated 2-0 Comoros to go through 3-1 on aggregate.
