Udinese’s Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Badu underwent knee surgery on Wednesday and will be ruled out from the Serie A side for at least six weeks.
“I was told I had torn some meniscus in my right knee and the only way to help solve the problem was through surgery. It is just unfortunate that anytime I peak, I’m pulled back by injury but this is football,” Emmanuel Badu was quoted as saying by Ghanasoccer.
The 22-year-old midfielder was injured during Ghana’s 2-1 victory over Tunisia in African Cup of Nations’ quarter final.
After returning to Italy he underwent several medical tests, which confirmed that he indeeds need surgery.
“I’m mentally strong and I think that will help me recover quickly. I will miss the Serie A with Udinese,” he concluded.
