Cameroon U23 coach Rigobert Song has said, during a pre-match press conference that his team still has a lot of work to do in order to book a seat out of Group A to the semifinals of the U23 Africa Cup of Nations.

Cameroon will face Egypt on Thursday in the final round of Group A matches of the U23 AFCON, which is held in Cairo from 8-22 November.

Cameroon, which tied with Ghana 1-1 and achieved a 1-0 victory against Mali, needs one point to reach the semifinals.

The Young Pharaohs have already booked their place in the semis after achieving two successive victories against Mali (1-0) and Ghana (3-2).

"Egypt will enter the game with the advantage [of having already qualified to the final four ],” the 43-year-old coach said.

“I have hopes in the group of players who joined us to help us tomorrow, and we will do our best to win. I expect that everyone will be ready and in form against the hosts tomorrow," he added.

"There's nothing impossible if we do our best. The victory is important to us and we will try to score from the beginning," Song concluded.

Three out of the eight teams partaking in the tournament will qualify for the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo.
