Algeria’s coach Vahid Halilhodzic hailed the Desert Warriors 2-1 win over Gambia in the 2013 African Nations Cup qualifier in Banjul, adding that he was pleased with his side’s efforts.

"I m very satisfied with my team’s performance during the game. They played a great match especially offensively, which was a serious problem for opposing side," Vahid Halilhodzic was quoted as saying by Algerian newspaper Al-Heddaf.

"In the past five years, Algeria has won only one away game. That was against Zambia. This is why I am so glad about Wednesday’s victory.

"I promised to change Algeria’s offensive style and I think that I succeeded on Wednesday. But it's only a start. We have to work hard for more improvement," he stated.

Concerning a possible return for Algerian icons, Nadir Belhaj and Karim Ziani, the manager refused to give a definitive response.

"I don't know if I will call Belhadj and Ziani in the future or not. The group which played on Wednesday presented a fine performance during the game and I am very satisfied with their performance.”
