Ahly will face Ethiopian Coffee while Cairo rivals Zamalek will take on Ivory Coast’s Africa Sports in the African Champions League round of 32.

Ethiopian Coffee secured passage to the second knockout round after crushing Mitsamiouli of Comoros 4-1 on Sunday for a 4-2 aggregate victory.

Their last meeting with Ahly, the record winners of the Champions League with six titles under their belt, was in the same competition in 1998.

The Red Devils were famously eliminated by their unfancied opponents on the away goal rule following a 2-2 aggregate draw in the competition’s first round.

Ahly, who last won Africa’s premier club competition in 2008, were given a bye into the round of 32.

Zamalek, who went through after claiming a narrow 1-0 home win over Tanzania’s Young Africans for a 2-1 aggregate victory on Saturday, will play Africa Sports after the latter  defeated Gabon’s Missile 2-0.

The White Knights overcame the Ivorians in 2008, winning 5-4 on penalties after a 2-2 aggregate draw.

Success-starved Zamalek won the last of their five Champions League triumphs in 2002.
