The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Monday that its disciplinary committee will investigate the misconduct during the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinals between TP Mazembe and Raja Club Athletic held on Saturday in Lubumbashi.

Raja Casablanca of Morocco booked their place in the CAF Champions League semifinals after beating TP Mazembe of DR Congo 2-1 on aggregate in the tournament's quarterfinals.

"Prior to the start of the match, there was a confrontation between some players from Raja and supporters of TP Mazembe close to the tunnel," CAF said in a statement.

The CAF also decided to further investigate the matter after watching video of the incident.

The continental football governing body asked Raja's officials to send their report on the incident, which took place during the match in question by 15 March 2020 at the latest.

Raja's officials also are required to appear before the Disciplinary Board at the next meeting for an official hearing.

The CAF also decided to suspend Raja Club Athletic player Iliass Haddad immediately and provisionally until he appears before the Disciplinary Board at the next meeting for an official hearing.

Raja Club Athletic are scheduled to face Egypt's Zamalek in the semifinals of the CAF Champions League next May.
