The chairman of the Premier League Board (PLB), Welbeck Abra-Appiah, asks fans for peace in the Glo Premier League, following riots in Accra and Robert Mensah stadiums over the weekend.
"Such problems must be condemned. I will act decisively to ensure that offenders are reprimanded," Appiah was quoted as saying on Ghanafa, Ghana Football Association's official website on Monday.
"There will be a strong reaction from the appropriate organs of the Ghana Football Association. We can’t just allow such acts to take place," the PLB chairman added.
"We will act decisively to maintain the league's integrity. Clubs and their fans will have to be part of the solution and we expect greater tolerance and the proper use of the right organs to address concerns."
A group of Ghana’s Mighty Jets fans attacked the CEO of Ashanti Gold team after Saturday's league match at the Accra Sports Stadium. Moreover, referee Patrick Kyeremateng was roughed up at the Robert Mensah Stadium where Dwarfs played Aduana Stars in the Ghana Premier league.
