The Cranes came back from a goal down to earn a deserved 1-1 draw against Tanzania on Tuesday.
Second-half substitute Yuda Mugalu scored in the 71stminute to assert his team’s domination and secure the second spot of group A with four points, two behind leaders Egypt.
Tanzania had a brilliant start in the game and were even able to get in the lead but Uganda reacted in the second half and were able to hold up against fierce offensive pressure until the end of 90 minutes.
The Tanzanians Taifa Stars will have to pack their bags after conceding two defeats and a single draw in their group stage encounters.
