AC Milan’s Ghanaian midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng, who has proven a revelation since joining the Italian giants in 2010, likened himself on Wednesday to Brazilian football legend Rivaldo.
"I've enjoyed watching lots of players, but Pele has always been my biggest hero, because he was a black man," Boateng said in an interview with UEFA.com. "He scored so many goals and was so incredibly successful.”
"I also like Rivaldo, because I've always thought we share similar playing styles," he added.
Rivaldo, who was named world’s best player in 1999, played for AC Milan from 2002 to 2004.
Boateng, 25, played an instrumental role in helping the Rossoneri win the Serie A title last season, and has continued to deliver superb performances into the current term.
