Spanish giants Barcelona are scouting Tunisia and Toulouse defender Aymen Abdennour, who has emerged as one of the best defenders in the France Ligue 1 this season.
French magazine France Football revealed the news Tuesday before it was confirmed by Abdennour's agent in the Tunisian press Thursday.
Coach Joseph Guardiola wants to strengthen a backline that proved a major headache this season, costing him crucial losses both in La Liga and in the Champions League.
The versatile 22-year-old defender joined Toulouse last summer, quickly establishing himself as a key element in Coach Alain Casanova's defence.
Barcelona isn't the only team to step up their interest in Abdennour, with Premier League sides Arsenal and Newcastle also reportedly ready to table bids for the Tunisian defender.
