A first half-strike from Kasongo Ngandu gave DR Congo a deserved 1-0 over Kenya on Monday to claim the bronze medal of the Nile Basin tournament.
Ngandu was set up by Salakiaku Matondo in the six yards to nudge the ball past the Kenya keeper in the 31st minute of the game.
The Leopards dominated the game from the start and had the better chances and had an amazing goal disallowed as it was whistled offside. A decision that proved to be wrong as the TV replay showed he was clearly onside.
The Kenyans reacted in the second half and they could have got the equalizer in the 83rd minute, after leading a fast counter but an awful finish cost them the points of the game.
