Zambia's FA president Kalusha Bwalya confirmed on Thursday that French coach Herve Renard will remain in his post at Chipolopolo until the end of his contract, which expires on 2014. Renard, who guided Zambia to a historic Nations Cup title last February, had threatened on Wednesday to leave Zambia in protest of unpaid salaries.

Several reports identified him as the replacement for South Africa coach Pitso Mosimane, fired the last week after the Bafana Bafana’s disappointing start in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

“Don’t believe what the journalists are saying; these reports are laughable and untrue,” Kalusha Bwalya told KickOff on Thursday. “Believe me, Renard is happy here and he has a contract until 2014. People must not believe everything that is reported.”

Zambia, who made a frustrated start on their campaign in the 2014 world Cup qualifiers after a 2-0 loss to Sudan, will have a tough mission against Ghana when they host the Black Stars on day two of the World Cup qualifiers.
