Ghana’s Sulley Muntari will be ruled out of action for six months after undergoing a surgery on a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, Italian giants AC Milan said on Wednesday.

“I underwent surgery for the reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee,” the Rossoneri said on their official website.

“The recovery time is around five to six months, excluding complications.”

Muntari joined Milan on loan from arch-rivals Inter last January. He made a fine impact with Milan, putting in some consistent displays and scoring three goals in 13 Serie A games.

However, AC Milan eventually finished runners-up to Serie A champions Juventus.
