TP Mazembe coach Lamine N'Diaye has praised Ahly for their 2-1 victory over his DR Congo side in their African Champions League Group B opener on Sunday.
"We played to draw with Ahly but Gedo's goal got the better of our efforts," N'Diaye said at the post-match press conference.
"We were disappointed when Ahly scored the winning goal as we lost an important point," he added.
"However, losing to Ahly is not the end of the world as we are still at the beginning of the group stage."
"Ahly, Zamalek and Mazembe are the greatest teams in Africa so the competition between us will be tough," N'Diaye added.
Ahly are scheduled to face Zamalek in the second match of the tournament on 22 July, while Mazembe will play Ghanaian side Chelsea.
